NomNom Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 16, 2026
NomNom (the "App") is developed and maintained by Spock Hsueh. We understand that your baby's feeding records contain sensitive information. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is stored and used, and the rights you have over your data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Enter
The following data is stored entirely within your personal iCloud account (Apple CloudKit private database). Our servers never touch this content:
- Baby profile (name, birth date)
- Food tags / categories
- Daily feeding entries (time, food item, milliliter amount, allergy reactions, notes)
- App preferences (observation window, currently selected baby, etc.)
1.2 Anonymous Diagnostic Data
To maintain app quality and stability, the following third-party services collect anonymous aggregate data:
- Firebase Analytics: app launches, screen views, feature usage frequency (excludes any baby record content)
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports (stack traces, device model, iOS version)
1.3 Advertising Data (Free Tier Only)
Free users see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:
- Advertising ID (IDFA) — only transmitted if you explicitly grant permission via the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt
- SKAdNetwork anonymous attribution events (cannot identify individuals)
- Device model, language, ad request timestamps
Upgrading to NomNom Premium completely removes ad requests.
1.4 What We Do Not Collect
- Email address, phone number, real name (no account registration required)
- Location data
- Contacts, photos, microphone, camera
- Any photos or facial data of your baby

3. Third-Party Service Policies
The App uses the following third-party services. Please refer to their privacy policies for details:
4. Children's Data
While NomNom records baby feeding information, the App is not directed at children. Users are caregivers (parents, grandparents, and other adults). All baby-related data is entered and controlled by you as the legal guardian, and is stored in your private iCloud.
The App does not:
- Knowingly collect personal information from children
- Share baby data with third-party advertisers or data brokers
- Perform any analytics or commercial use on baby records
Under COPPA (U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and GDPR-K guidelines, NomNom is classified as a "parenting tool" rather than a children's service.
5. Your Rights
You retain the following rights at all times:
- Access: All baby records reside in your iCloud and can be viewed at any time within the App
- Modify / Delete Individual Entries: Swipe to delete or edit any record within the App
- Export: Premium users can export PDF reports
- Complete Deletion: After uninstalling the App, go to iOS → Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage → NomNom to delete all CloudKit data
- Revoke Ad Tracking Consent: iOS → Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking — turn off at any time
- Revoke Analytics: iOS → Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements — disable "Share iPhone & Watch Analytics"
6. Data Retention
- Baby records: stored in your iCloud until you actively delete them or disable iCloud sync
- Anonymous analytics / crash reports: retained per Google Firebase default policy (auto-deleted after 14 months)
- Advertising data: retained per Google AdMob policy
7. Security
- Baby records are end-to-end encrypted in transit and at rest via Apple iCloud
- Our code contains no logic that transmits baby data to any non-Apple service
- All Firebase / AdMob communication is over HTTPS
8. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date. For substantive privacy changes (such as adding a new third-party service), we will display an in-app notice.
